Breeders High

We are excited to bring in an award system
to the Jamboree this year for folks that choose to enter all
three shows. Here are the particulars for the program:
We will have 6 divisions.

Small Farm Division <= 25
-
Medium Farm Division 2660
-
Large Farm Division >= 61
Suri Farm
Division Break Down
-
Small Farm Division <= 20
-
Medium Farm Division 2135
-
Large Farm Division >= 36
A breeder must have a minimum of three
entries at the all 3 shows to be eligible for the Small Farm
Division Cup. A breeder must have a minimum of six entries at
all 3 shows to be eligible for the Medium Farm Division Cup. A
breeder must have a minimum of nine entries at all 3 shows to be
eligible for the Large Farm Division Cup. The cup division will
be assigned to each farm using the number of registered females
18 months or older and less than 15 years old per breed as
reflected in the AOA database on the date show registration
closes. Entries will be based on AOA certificates.
Our points will be awarded for each alpaca
based on their average placement between all 3 shows. In
addition, only the top two placing alpacas will be considered
for points for the Small Farm Division, top 4 placing alpacas in
the Medium Farm Division and top 6 placing alpacas for the Large
Farm Division.
We will also award points for 1 entry in
Get of Sire, 1 entry in Produce of Dam and 1 entry in Breeders
Best Three, if an exhibitor chooses to enter those classes.
Breaking Ties
There are two levels of
tiebreakers for this award.
Level 1
Show management will review all
winnings of the ranches in question and the ranch with the most
first place awards will win the tie.
Example:
Ranch A ended the show with four
1st place ribbons.
Ranch B ended the show with three 1st place ribbons.
Ranch A will be declared the winner.
Level 2
If there is still a tie, then
show management will assign multipliers to the 1st place awards
given to the ranches. The multipliers will be based on the size
of the classes that the 1st place awards were given.
Example:
Class Size |
Multiplier |
1 |
1.1 |
2 |
1.2 |
3 |
1.3 |
4 |
1.4 |
5 |
1.5 |
6 |
1.6 |
Each first-place ribbon awarded
to the ranches will be reassigned the new points with the
multiplier and the ranch awards will be re-calculated with these
points to determine the winners.
Winners will be announced the week after
the show and awards will be mailed to each winning farm.
PAOBA Breeders
Showcase
This year this show will be a Premium
show. This means that we will award cash values to entries
that place 1st, 2nd or 3rd
place. For this show we will award the following values to
placings:
There are several steps that we will take
to make this happen. We will increase the entry fee for the
PAOBA Breeders Showcase by 10 dollars. That is just 10
dollars. If you take a 3rd place you pay for that
increase in fee, if you take a 2nd or 3rd,
you are making money. We do expect to operate this show at a
loss which is very tough when shows are so close to breaking
even at every event. We are willing to do this to try to
increase the excitement level at the shows! Having said this
last statement please understand that we will award flat ribbons
for placings 1-6 and championship rosettes for the championship
classes to try to minimize our expenses for this show.
Friday Night
Mega Show Ring Sale and Marketing Event
When the show rings end on Friday we will
start with an open bar for beer and wine. We will invite all
farms that wish to freely highlight their breeding program to
enter this event. You may sign up to highlight an alpaca for
sale, the production of a dam or a sire that you would like to
sell breedings to. To sign up you just need to contact Holly
Jacobs at
hblod65@aol.com.
Everyone will gather around the rings; the
highlighted alpacas will parade into the rings and then a
narrative written by you will be read. Once we complete all
narratives, we invite all attendees into the ring to look
everyone over and have conversations with farms that have piqued
your interest. Once this part of the event is over, we will
invite all of the champions from the Friday show back into the
rings and we will allow everyone to come into the rings and look
at the attributes that have allowed the judges to bestow this
honor on the entrants. This event can continue as long as folks
want to socialize and look at alpacas in the farm stalls. |
