| The Cottage Industry Alpaca Breeders Association, is moving
full steam ahead, gearing up for another fascinating, dynamic
Fleece Event! In tandem with the CIABA Unskirted Fiber Event ™,
we are also offering a massive North East Sort- A- Thon! Let’s
work together to reach a goal of 1000 pounds of fiber to sort
and sell! Send in your unskirted fiber to be evaluated by
fiber experts Robyn Kuhl and Jody Hezoucky of the Certified
Sorting Sytems ®.
They will be sorting, grading, and narrating a personalized
report of your fleece as well as offering suggestions for best
use. And to top all that off, there will be opportunities to
sell fleece to commercial and niche market buyers. Buyers are
presently pre-registering with CIABA to purchase grades 1-5 in
all the light textile colors, plus grey and black. Non hairy
fiber will be purchased for $7.00 per pound and hairy fiber will
be purchased at 4.00 per pound.
